After graduating from the University of Kentucky, Scott Owens forged a successful 15-year career in advertising and marketing.

At well-known firms Doe-Anderson Advertising in Louisville and Freedman Advertising, Cincinnati, Scott directed the agencies’ efforts for brands such as Churchill Downs, Fischer’s Meats, Tia Maria Liqueur, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, Turfway Park, Paramount Foods and many others.

Because of his broad experience in thoroughbred racing, Scott was recruited back to Lexington and served five years as President of Kentucky Off-Track Betting, Inc., a consortium owned by Keeneland, Churchill Downs, Turfway Park and Ellis Park with annual sales over $30 million.

In 2006, Scott created Owens Law Group, PSC, in Richmond, Kentucky. His goal was to build a firm that would meet the consumer demand for a hands-on, personal approach to solving legal problems.

Research confirms a large segment of the market is unhappy with the way most law firms conduct business. Ignored and unreturned phone calls, always dealing with staff and rarely the attorney, lack of communication and an arrogant attitude were examples of negative attributes associated with today’s law firms.
